WSL has won a major contract with Wincanton Logistics at their new dedicated Argos distribution centre at Kettering. The contract is to supply Circa 110,000 pallet locations over a 24 week build programme, commencing at the end of March 2006.

The business was won on a competitive tender basis with competition from all of the industry’s major players. Along with the usual innovations WSL are renown for, the business was awarded with the ability to deliver on a short timescale very much a major consideration.

WSL has also been appointed principal contractor on the project, once again illustrating our ability to do much more than just “sell metal”. WSL will be responsible for all other contractors on site with regard to Health and Safety issues under CDM Regulations.

WSL works very closely with it’s suppliers and there is no doubt that the special relationship with racking manufacturers and installation teams means we are able to “go the extra mile” when required, and enable us to win contracts such as this

This is the third Argos related project we have won in the last year having previously installed racking at the Argos Direct warehouse in Darlington, and fitted the mezzanine floor at Argos Lowestoft.

There is a rumour circulating that we are to have our own racking and storage section in the next Argos catalogue!
