A major UK supplier of stamping foils has placed a second order with
Warehouse Systems Limited for purpose designed racking.

Our original contact with the Customer was at the Woodmex exhibition in 1998 and following our initial meeting at the NEC,
we visited the customer’s site to see the productand to evaluate the situation.

The product, metallic stamping foil, has a thickness which is measured in microns. It is stored on rolls in purpose designed cases and frames which could be block stacked up to 4 high. With it’s fragile nature, the product cannot sit directly on the floor, neither can it be touched directly by any materials handling equipment. The product itself comes in a variety of identities including gold/silver colours, holograms or corporate logos. Applications for the foils include; signature strips for credit cards, logos/holograms for concert tickets/banknotes and letterheads.
WSL developed and supplied a purpose made solution using the general concepts of cantilever racking together with an innovative fork lift truck attachment. The rolls of foil are stored on solid cantilever arms and are accessed using a hollow "shoe" which uses the inner cardboard tube to support the roll. Such has been the success of the system, the customer has recently placed the order for an additional quantity of the racking.
