WSL has won a major contract with international clothier Paul Smith.

Our client is at the very top of the retail tree, designing and selling a wide collection of men and women’s clothing. (They even clothe Manchester United players.)

As with all successful companies, Paul Smith constantly review their business, both strategically and operationally. It was a review of their distribution process that led them to contacting WSL to see if we had the expertise to provide a solution that would allow the company to handle it’s growth plans and at the same time introduce improvements to service levels and efficiencies.

WSL recognised the size and complexity of the solution required and Dave Wort, sales director and Simon Scott, senior project manager, worked as a team to provide a proposal within the required timescales.

Many hours of work were involved in analysing the current and projected distribution profile before WSL arrived at a viable scheme.

The contract is worth over £1.5 Million and, as usual, with contracts of this complexity and size was won against stiff opposition and over a protracted negotiation period.

Briefly the contract consists of the Installation of a three tiered garment hanging system complete with walkways, garment slick rail & conveyors, lighting, emergency lighting, smoke detection and sprinkler protection. Access via 3 staircases.

Installation of a Pallet Racking System complete with mesh decked picking shelves at lower level, rack end protection barriers, Lighting, emergency lighting, roof level smoke detection and in rack sprinkler protection.

Installation of ground level shelving (Allocation shelving) with angled mesh shelves. Lighting above each aisle and smoke detection/sprinkler protection at roof level.
