If you’ve ever taken a none branded paracetamol the chances are it was made by Teva. Teva UK are one of the country’s biggest manufacturers of generic medicines. Although they were happy to be expanding into an extension to their current storage, with it’s free ranging narrow-aisle racking system, they were worried about how their staff could safely get from the old to the new building without running into the path of a Flexi-Truck.

Warehouse Systems had the answer; a safety tunnel. As you can see from the picture a rigid steel frame formed a protected walkway underneath the racks. The rack level above was decked to prevent any fall through and hand railing formed a strong barrier next to the aisle. Because Teva consulted us at an early stage it was simple to incorporate the safety tunnel whilst we were constructing the rest of the scheme. The design has the dual benefits of keeping everyone safe and taking up the minimum of storage space.

Problem solved.
