Pushback Racking

High speed, high density storages

Push Back Racking

Pushback racking combines safe, high density storage with high speed access. You can store two to five pallets deep and usually up to five pallets high.

The picking face is always full as pallets are gravity-fed and retrieved from the same aisle on a first in, last out (FILO) basis, using conventional handling equipment.

Pallets are placed on wheeled carriers and are pushed back to use the full depth of your racking. When you remove a pallet, the remaining pallets roll to the front of the rack.

Pushback racking is particularly well-suited to:

  • Stock with a predictable, medium-rate turnover.
  • SKUs with two or more pallets per SKU.
  • Bulk storage.
  • Cold storage.
  • Load marshalling.

  • It enables you to:

  • Increase efficiency with fast access.
  • Make great use of space.
  • Keep track of stock levels.
  • Reduce damage.
  • Save money by using conventional trucks.

  • Increase efficiency with fast access

Pallets are loaded and unloaded from one central aisle and you can access every lane from the aisle at all times, irrespective of the storage level. No time is wasted working up and down narrow aisles, so you can handle stock very efficiently.

    Make great use of space

Pushback racking utilises more than twice the floor space of wide aisle racking and so significantly increases your storage space.

    Keep track of stock levels

Indicators can show the number of pallets stored at each level and the spaces available to help you monitor stock and vacant storage space.

    Reduce damage

Forklift trucks never need enter the rack, so the risk of damage to your stock is reduced greatly, particularly when compared to drive-in racking.

Save money by using conventional trucks

You can use standard forklift trucks, so there's no need to invest in specialist equipment.
