Racking Systems Extended Information

Standard Pallet Racking

Standard Pallet Racking is by far the most versatile of any racking, with no need for specialised handling equipment (utilising standard forktrucks and hand trucks ) with many configurations and a wide range of accessories available at

Standard Pallet Racking is is your ideal starting point. For this and all our other systems, please contact us to arrange for one of our Project Managers to visit and discuss your scheme with you.

Narrow Aisle

Narrow Aisle systems are very popular and can be used for heavy duty and high density storage systems. The drop in unit prices for the have made this system very cost effective.

The aisle width needs only to be slightly larger than the pallet load, therefore utilizing maximum warehouse space.

Narrow Aisle is highly versatile and is easily installed, it also offers direct accessibility to each individual pallet. Depending on the height available to the trucks, the evenness of the floor may be an issue, but this can usually be over come.

Drive-In Racking

Our Drive-In racking is ideal for predictable stock movement, as this works on a first in / last out (FILO) basis.

Drive-In racking is great where space is short and again uses standard pallet trucks. The pallet trucks drive into the racking, placing the pallet on cantilevered rails. Detailed account of the truck dimensions is crucial and it may be preferable to guide the trucks with floor mounted rails.

Push-Back Racking

Push-back racking is another great system where space is short.

This is another first in, last out system, however, in this case pallets are accessible by level rather than by full lane as in the case of Drive-In. The pallets are gravity fed on rollers or trolleys and stored from 2 to 5 deep and again accessed using standard pallet trucks. Indicators at each level help to show the number of pallets currently stored at each level and the spaces available.

Our Push-back racking is one of the best ways to utilize space, and can be ideal for load marshalling as each lane can hold dedicated stock. Aisle and location markers for this and our other systems are available from

Pallet Live Racking
Pallet-live racking works on a similar principle as Push-back racking using gravity fed rollers, the difference being stock is placed in one aisle and removed from the aisle behind, giving a first in, first out (FIFO) system.

Our Pallet-live racking can provide the densest storage solution for bulk storage whilst also offering guaranteed stock rotation.

Double Deep Pallet Racking

Our Double Deep pallet racking is a simple way of placing one pallet behind another.
Using a double deep lift truck, the operator places the back pallet into the system first, then places another pallet in front of it.

This gives twice as many pallets stored for a given number of aisles and offers a similar space utilization to Narrow Aisle Racking, however, individual access to every pallet is compromised

Mobile Racking

With Mobile Racking the pallet racks are mounted on mobile bases, these travel on tracks laid into the floor.
The racking can be moved as individual aisles or as entire sections, giving individual access to all pallets. Depending on the throughput, this system can be the most efficient use of space.

Mobile racking systems are particularly effective in Cold Stores and where space is at a premium and manual picking from pallets is not a major concern. Properly configured, through high throughputs can be acchieved by matching the number of aisles to the number of trucks.

Carpet Racking

Carpet Racking is designed ti safely store carpets and rolls of linen etc. Protecting them whilst in storage.

The use of slatted timber decks can greatly decrease the damage both to the carpet and to conventional chipboard decks; reducing the overall costs of ownership.

Carpets are accessed using conventional forklift trucks with a simple boom attachment.

Cantilever Racking

Completely adjustable Cantilever Racks can eliminate awkward storage problems. Heavy duty steel construction permits storage of tubes, bars, structural steel and other long heavy items that must be kept off the floor. Bases can be used for extra storage. A standard Forklift truck can easily handle loads off and on arms and bases; to minimise aisle sizes, special side loading vehicles can be utilised. Fast, convenient handling of heavy, long unwieldy stock
