Pallet racking is a popular, cost-effective, space efficient and highly adaptable storage system enabling the user the storage of materials on pallets. Built on multiple levels, stock is generally made accessible by forklift trucks. Standard Pallet Racking

An adaptable and accessible system, standard pallet racking uses wide aisles and allows unlimited access and availability to all stored items. It is usually accessed by forklift trucks, though the ground level pallets can be accessed by hand. This works especially well for use in self-service bays in large retail stores.

Narrow Aisle Racking

Narrow aisle racking systems still allow you to store your palletised items with ease of access yet narrow aisles allow you to increase your storage volume, maximising your storage space. It is also able to reach extremely high, maximising the height of your warehouse. It does require specialised Material Handling Equipment, which can increase your budget.

Drive-in Racking

Drive in racking uses a common entrance and exit and work on a LIFO (last in, first out) storage method. It can be a good storage solution for large amounts of the same product. A similar method, Drive-Through racking, has entry points at opposite ends of the bays and uses a FIFO (first in first out) method of storage. Drive through systems are advantageous for those storing items with a limited shelf life or expiration date.

Push Back Racking

Push back racking offers a high-density storage solution without the need to drive into a rack. By storing the products on wheeled carts that fit onto slightly angled rails, this system takes full advantage of gravity in aiding the movement of items, which proves beneficial when moving heavy and unusually shaped items. This system works on a FIFO method of storage and will reduce aisle sizes comparably to pallet live or drive in racking.

Pallet Live Racking

Alternatively named gravity flow or dynamic flow; pallet live racking storage systems allows pallets to be moved easily along a sloped plane aided by rails and rollers. The speed of the pallet is controlled by a complex braking and motion system. Pallet live systems can support both FIFO and FILO methods of stock rotation.

Powered Mobile Racking

Mobile racking comprises conventional racking mounted on a steel framed base. The base is a powered structure, with electrically driven wheels that run along tracks set into the floor. The rows of pallet racks can be moved remotely along the floor tracks to create a ‘floating’ access aisle when and where they are needed.
